Description

YORK SE6052SE GOODRAMGATE 1112-1/14/386 (South East side) 14/06/54 Nos.13 AND 15 (Formerly Listed as: GOODRAMGATE No.13) (Formerly Listed as: GOODRAMGATE No.15) GV II Formerly known as: Nos.10-13 GOODRAMGATE. Two houses, now shops and flats. Mid C19 remodelling of two medieval structures; extensively rebuilt c1972. MATERIALS: both buildings originally timber-framed. Front rendered and white-washed with timber guttering on paired modillions; rear of No.13 of orange-brown brick in stretcher bond; rear of No.15 of yellow-brown brick. Slate roof at front, pantile at rear. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attics; 4-window front, first floors jettied. No.13 has shopfront with sunk panel jambs, plain fascia and projecting modillion cornice on heavy grooved consoles; glazed and panelled door is recessed between half-canted plate glass windows over sunk panel risers. At right end is C20 panelled passage door. No.15 has two shopfronts with plain jambs and fascia, and projecting continuous moulded cornice on shaped brackets. Left shop has disused glazed and panelled door recessed to right of 4-light window with shaped mullions over sunk panel riser. Right shop has part-glazed door to left of plate glass window. First floor windows are 1-pane sashes, attic windows gabled half-dormers with 4-pane sashes: all have painted sills. First floor windows and dormer gables have pierced scalloped bargeboards with finials. INTERIOR: posts and wall-plates visible in places on ground floor, embedded in later fabric.
