Description

YORK SE6052SW GILLYGATE 1112-1/13/375 (South East side) 14/06/54 No.66 GV II House. c1765 with early C19 alterations. Brick in Flemish bond on stone plinth. Slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and 3 bays. The windows are sashes without glazing bars with painted brick flat arches and projecting sills. The right-hand bay has blind recesses to the upper storeys, and a doorway with 6-panel door and a doorcase with a fanlight, slender engaged columns with acanthus caps, panelled reveals, and a cornice. At the left of the timber modillion eaves cornice is a downpipe with lead hopper. Chimney on left-hand gable. The third storey, and a back wing, are said to be early C19 additions.
