Description

YORK SE5751SW FRONT STREET, Acomb 1112-1/18/1189 (South side) 14/06/54 No.8 GV II House, now office. Early C18 with late C18 and C20 alterations. Painted render over brick. Pantiled roof. Built with gable facing the street. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. The facade has a 2-storey canted bay window at the left which has glazing bar sashes, and a dentilled cornice to a flat roof. The door, at the right, has 6 raised and fielded panels, and a shallow overlight of 7 small panes. It has a porch with fluted columns and a plain entablature. To the right of the door there is a small casement window. At the right there is the front wall of a 2-storey lean-to addition in a similar style. On the 1st floor it has a glazing bar sash window, and on the ground floor it has a panelled door in a pilaster doorcase. Chimney visible towards rear to left of ridge. INTERIOR: not inspected.
