Description

YORK SE6051NW BRIDGE STREET 1112-1/28/120 (South side) 23/04/82 Nos.3 AND 4 GV II Two shops, now one shop. c1830, with C20 alteration. Painted brick in Flemish bond with paired modillion timber eaves band; parallel hipped roofs of slate with scrolled corner brackets. EXTERIOR: 3-storey 2-window front. Paired pilaster and cornice shopfronts. On first floor, unequal 9-pane sash to left; to right, enlarged opening with replacement sash. On second floor, two 12-pane sashes. All windows have painted stone sills and cambered brick arches, those on second floor partly masked by eaves band. Cast-iron rainwater goods to right, with inverted fluted bell hopper and fleur-de-lys clamps. INTERIOR: not inspected. (City of York: RCHME: South-west of the Ouse: HMSO: 1972-: 124).
