House, now flats. 1865. Brick with slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with attic and basement. 2 bays. The windows are sashed without glazing bars, and have rubbed brick flat arches and a 1st floor sill band. On the ground floor a canted bay window is set on a raised brick panel and has a modillion cornice. Its brick base includes glazing bar sashes lighting the basement. The attic has a small flat-roofed dormer. Modillion gutter cornice. Chimneys to left and right. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: cast-iron gate and area railings. Nos 1-22 Bootham Terrace form an unusually complete row of speculatively built terraced houses, constructed between 1860 and 1870 to an interesting variety of different designs.
