SE6050NE ALMA TERRACE 1112-1/25/23 (South side) 09/03/94 Stable approximately 10 metres to rear of No.47 The Wellington Inn (Formerly Listed as: ALMA TERRACE No.47 The Wellington Inn and attached brewhouse)

Stable and loft, now store. 1897. Buff-brown brick, in stretcher bond and partly whitewashed on yard side, English garden-wall bond on outer side: monopitched slate roof. EXTERIOR: 1-storey front with loft; 2-bay building. Entrance on yard side is stable door with overlight; to right is small window. Outer side has 2 part glazed part slatted openings high on ground floor; above is pitching hole now closed by board shutter. All openings have chamfered stone lintels and windows heavy stone sills. INTERIOR: wooden partition between 2 stalls survives. Also, loft ladder of 2 wooden planks each pierced by stirrup shaped footholes in place of conventional rungs. Included for group value as an integral part of No.47, The Wellington Inn (qv).
