Description

The main part of Escrick Conservation Area is situated outside the City of York boundary, all except the northernmost tip. The conservation areas was designated in 1992. This entry relates to the part of the conservation area which falls within the boundary of York. The village contains several listed buildings including the Hall, and the Church of St Helen. The main elements of the character and appearance of the area are: 1) The value of the norternmost part of the conservation area as an approach route and prelude to the main section of the village.
