Description

YORK SE6051NE WALMGATE 1112-1/17/1165 (South West side) 24/06/83 Nos.65, 67, 69 AND 69A (Formerly Listed as: WALMGATE Nos.65-69 (odd), No.69A, No.71) GV II Terrace of four houses with shops. c1840, restored with renewed shopfronts in C20. Orange brick in Flemish bond with painted stone dressings; timber cornice, returned across George Street front; slate roof, hipped at corner, with corner scroll and brick stacks. EXTERIOR: 2-storey 4-window front. Shopfronts of plain pilasters with imposts and plain cornice: plate glass windows over timber risers with glazed and panelled doors beneath divided overlights. First floor windows are 16-pane sashes with channelled wedge lintels, over sill band returned on George Street front. Right return to George Street: 2 storeys, 2 windows. Shopfront to No.65 returns.
