Description

YORK SE5950NW THE MOUNT 1112-1/24/1088 (South East side) 21/04/83 No.121 GV II House, now offices. 1833. Stucco with hipped slate roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. 3 main bays, the central one projecting. At the left there is a 2-storey rectangular bay window which has tripartite sashes without glazing bars, and a cornice immediately below the main eaves. The right-hand bay has a small sashed window on the ground floor. Above, at an intermediate level, is a stair window which is sashed and has a glazed round-arched head. Below the eaves there is a shallow window with fixed lights. The 1st floor window of the central bay is a casement. The porch has paired pilasters, a plain entablature, a cornice, and a 6-panel divided door. The house eaves are coved with sprocketed rafters. Ridge chimneys to each side of central bay. Adjoining to the right is a lower 2-storey wing with a 1st floor sill band. This has a recessed bay at the left with a sashed window above a door with overlight. To the right it has a casement window with a boarded garage door to the right, and a sashed window and a casement window on the 1st floor. INTERIOR: not inspected.
