Description

YORK SE5951SW MOUNT PARADE 1112-1/19/753 (North East side) 19/08/71 No.8 (Formerly Listed as: MOUNT PARADE Nos.1-4 AND 5-18 (Consecutive)) GV II House. 1829-30. Brick with painted stone or stucco dressings. Slate roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with cellar and attic and 2 bays. At the left on the ground floor there is a canted bay window on a brick base which contains a cellar window with glazing bars. Its ground-floor windows are sashed and it has engaged shafts at the corners and a modillion cornice. The 1st floor windows are glazing bar sashes with a sill band and rusticated painted lintels with keystones and segmental soffits. The attic is lit by a dormer which has a pitched lead roof and a horizontal sash with glazing bars. The doorcase, at the right has engaged Composite columns, a bay leaf garland frieze, and a fanlight. The door has 6 raised and fielded panels. Shared chimneys to left and right.
