Includes: No.11  MINSTER YARD.           Five houses; now three shops. Early C18 with early C19           alterations and shopfronts: further alterations later. Front           of orange-brown brick in Flemish bond, rear in stretcher bond;           timber doorcase, shopfronts and cornice; hipped roof, tile at           front, pantile at rear, with brick stacks and gabled dormers           with 2-light Yorkshire sashes.           EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, cellars and attics; 6-window front to           Minster Gates; 3-window front to Minster Yard. Nos 3 and 5           have paired shopfronts of sunk-panel pilasters with plain           fascia and cornice: doors are half glazed and flush panelled           with overlights; windows are plate glass over louvred risers.           Shopfronts to Nos 7 and 9, returned on Minster Yard front, are           shallow square bay windows with pent roofs and small-paned           lights or large-pane lower replacements, over boarded risers:           doors are glazed and panelled, with small-pane overlights.           First floor windows are five 16-pane sashes, and one 12-pane           sash with wrought-iron anthemion window guard: on second           floor, five 12-pane sashes, one 16-pane sash. All have narrow           painted sills and flat arches of gauged brick, obscured on           second floor by prominent moulded cornice. 5-course raised           brick second floor band returns on Minster Yard front. Minster           Yard front has doorcase of pilasters with moulded imposts and           cornice, and door of 6 raised and fielded panels with divided           overlight: 12-pane sash window to left. First floor windows           are 16-pane sashes, second floor 12-pane sashes, two blind.           Cornice returns from Minster Gates front.           INTERIOR: Nos 7 and 9 retain cast-iron range with basket grate           in plain fireplace with moulded shelf on ground floor.           (City of York: RCHME: The Central Area: HMSO: 1981-: 161).
