Description

YORK SE6051NW LOW PETERGATE 1112-1/28/609 (South West side) 14/06/54 No.95 GV II Formerly known as: No.54 LOW PETERGATE. House, now shop. Early C18 with extensive C19 and C20 alterations: C20 shopfront. Painted orange brick in Flemish bond with timber boxed guttering on iron brackets; pantile roof with truncated brick stack and one gabled dormer with tiled roof and 2x6-pane casement window. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and attic; 2-window front. Shopfront has glazed door between plate glass windows and prominent cornice on shaped brackets. At right end, passage door of 6 sunk panels in round-arched opening. First floor windows are shallow canted bays with 8:12:8-pane sash windows and moulded dentilled cornices. On second floor, three windows are 12-pane sashes, two are 2x3-pane casements, all with painted moulded sills. Raised first floor band interrupted by inserted shopfront.
