Description

YORK SE6051NW LOW OUSEGATE 1112-1/28/577 (South side) 24/06/83 No.13 GV II House, now shop. Early C18 with C19 and C20 alteration, and C20 shopfront. Front of rusticated stucco, with timber dentil and modillion eaves cornice; rear grey-brown mottled brick in stretcher bond; slate roof, hipped at front, gabled at rear, with brick stacks. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and attic; 1-window front. Shopfront has central door with overlight and flanking plate glass windows. First floor window is 6-light canted bay with dentilled cornice: second floor has two 2/2 sash windows with narrow sills, in plain raised surrounds. One box dormer with 2x2-pane sliding sash window in attic. At left end of cornice, inverted bell rainwater head. Rear: ground floor obscured. First floor has 16-pane window, second floor 4-pane sash, each with 1-brick segmental arch. Attic has smaller 4-pane sash beneath cambered soldier brick arch. Fluted bowl rainwater head.
