Description

A watching brief revealed archaeological deposits within the machine excavated foundation trench. Four parallel ditches of probable Roman date were located at the northern end of the site. They date back to the period from the late 1st century to the early to mid 3rd century. These ditches may indicate the presence of an important land boundary within the area.
