Description

Level ground near the River Ouse had probably been "ings" or water meadows from the Roman to medieval periods, without intensive occupation; on a terrace above were traces of Roman activity, including one intact and several disturbed inhumations. EXCAVATION? Terry Avenue, area 2 The observation has limited potential for further research. The pottery, finds and environmental evidence are to be assessed for their potential research value.
