Description

A series of machine-cut trenches was dug in advance of a large housing development. Most encountered cultivated soil above natural deposits. Two trenches closest to Lawrence Street contained well-preserved remains of medieval buildings, possibly parts of the medieval hospital of St Nicholas. NMR:Evaluation, involving the excavation of two trenches, on the site of the medieval Hospital of St Nicholas. An excavation followed in 1993 (Event UID: 1063653). RCHME microfilm PRN 4456.
