Description

borehole survey A single borehole was drilled on September 12th, 1999 to the south of the entrance way to the CGU offices underground parking lot situated immediately to the south-west of Rougier Street. As only a single borehole was drilled it is impossible to correlate the data recovered with evidence from adjacent areas of the site. Suffice to say it was apparent that up to 6m of archaeologically stratified deposits are present at the site, starting at a depth of 3.61m AOD. The presence of a hearth, and possible surfaces also indicated domestic occupation.
