Description
Northern Archaeological Associates carried out an archaeological watching brief on behalf of Yorkshire Water Services Ltd during the initial groundworks for the disposal main associated with a new pumping station at Askham Bryan waste water treatment works, near York.
Monitoring of topsoil stripping in the northern half of the route, north of Askham Bryan Lane, exposed ditches associated with post-medieval field boundaries and field drainage systems. A representative sample of the ridge and furrow in the southern half of the route was also recorded during initial groundworks.
