Description

Watching brief This watching brief was conducted in the course of excavation of foundation and drain trenches in advance of a residential development of apartmants and flats. This confirmed the conclusions from the previous evaluation, that most of the archaeology in the area had been destroyed or buried by modern activity. A single piece of unabraded medieval pottery was recovered; thios may hint at non-agricultural medieval activity close by. NMR Information: Alternate Name (Type: Alternative) 1999.258 Yorkshire Museum code: 1999.258. Monitoring of residential development groundworks recorded modern activity only.
