Description
Between 24th March and the 11th of April 1997, York Archaeological Trust carried out a field evaluation at Manor Lane, Rawcliffe, York, under the instruction of Ms. J. Hubbard, and on behalf of Mr. W. B. Ritchie. The site lies between Manor Lane, Rawcliffe and the outer ring road (A1237), at the junction between the A1237 and the A19. The evaluation revealed only one archaeologically significant feature; a Roman ditch. The site appears to have been subjected to deep ploughing, and any other archaeological features which might have been present are though to have been destroyed.
