Description

96 The Mount is situated close to the supposed line of the Roman road between York and Tadcaster. Numerous burials have been found from the Roman period. Sote may have also functioned as part of St. Catherine's Hospital during the medieval period. Watching brief monitored the excavations of footings for a new extension and associated drainage at the rear of The Mount. New extension replaced an old extension.
