Description

EXCAVATION Five interconnecting trenches were excavated, revealing a complex sequence of deposits dating from Roman times to the present including exceptionally well-preserved Roman timber structures. Roman stone building aligned NW-SE, presumably fronting onto the main road to the fortress. Anglian (or Anglo-Scan) timber-lined structure, residual 10th century pot.
