Description
Work has commenced on site, starting 27th August 2014, with the metal detecting of the Non-intensive areas, as outlined in the WSI. The non-intensive metal detecting was completed on the 12th September. These areas had a coverage of 20-30cm of stubble coverage. One area was set aside and had patches of vegetation over 50cm high. A wide range of ferrous material and non-ferrous material was collected and included a hearth bottom found near the boundary with Fulford School. Finds have been packed and stored. All find locations were surveyed in by Total Station.
