A watching brief was observed during ground works in advance of two extensions to 2 Church View, Acomb. Archaeological pressence was required due to the close proximity of St Stephen's Church, 40m west of the property. Two 0.70m wide trenches were excavated by mini-JCB to a depth of 0.90m BGL. Trench 1 was sited to the north of the property, and was 'L'-shaped with the long axis running E-W. Trench 2 was sited to the east of the property and was aligned N-S. No significant archaeological deposits were observed during groundworks and no finds were retained. NMR Information: no additional description provided.
