Description

In late 2001 and early 2002, York Archaeological Trust maintained a periodic watching brief at 105-127 Micklegate, York. The works consisted of the monitoring of two boreholes later succeeded by observations of two engineering test pits and recording during the stripping of parts of the site for a raft type foundation. The first two components highlighted the presence of a considerable depth of recent material, the third confirmed that the principal component, at least, of the development was taking place at a level within these later materials.
