Description
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by On-Site Archaeology Limited in October 2017. The watching brief was commissioned by Mr Michael Hammill of Yorbuild Ltd to satisfy a condition attached to the development; the conversion of a 20th century small industrial structure, a former garage, into a domestic dwelling. The investigation comprised the monitoring of the mechanical excavation of new drainage trenches, largely internal. These trenches were excavated no deeper than 0.30 metre below the concrete floor level revealing nothing more than 20th century ground make-up. Sand, perhaps natural, was observed in two of the three trenches.
