Description

The watching brief incorporated the monitoring of the footings for a new extension to the west side of The Slip Inn public house within a small yard. This involved the machine excavation of three small trenches. These exposed an early-modern well which had been damaged during the construction of early drainage associated with the pub, along with levelling deposits associated with the pub’s construction. No earlier deposits were encountered.
