The increased depth of sub-soil across the site to the south may indicate that the top of the mound, where the excavations took place, has been truncated at some time in the past, removing any archaeological deposits which may have survived. Whilst no archaeological remains were exposed during the excavation of the ground beams, it is possible that any future excavation may reveal evidence of the sites past history, especially around the standing building. NMR Information: Monitoring of groundworks recorded no significant archaeological features or finds.
