Description
The watching brief involved the monitoring of intrusive works during the construction
phase.
The earliest material observed during the watching brief were layers of garden soils sealed by a
cobble surface tentatively dated to the medieval period. The medieval horizon was sealed by a
thick layer of post-medieval horticultural soil that was truncated by numerous structures dated
to the 19th century.
