Description

A ground penetrating radar survey which was characterised by modern services and levelling activities, with some evidence for post-medieval buildings. Limited potential archaeological activity has been identified in the deeper results in the form of possible wall remnants of post medieval and medieval date. It is unlikely that the surveys have achieved enough signal penetration to reach the earlier medieval and Roman layers known to be present on site. This was known in advance of the survey and the survey objectives were more concerned with understanding the upper layers of the site and the impact of historical and recent interventions in the near surface.
