Description
A small excavation (1m x 1m) in advance of tree planting took place in August 1989. An undisturbed layer of clay loam was noted at 0.92m (15.17m AOD) sealed by demolition debris. This clay layer is anticiapted to be sealing monastic occupational levels at 1m+ bgl.
