Description

A watching brief maintained on a trial trench at the Mount School. Archaeological deposits sealing an undated feature were identified. Exact NGR unknown. No report available. NGR has been updated using York Archaeology (YAT) online archive. NMR sources: York Archaeological Trust annual report 1993-1994/23 Entry in YAT gazetteer: 1993.20. Approx 0.9m depth of modern levelling deposit was observed in a contractor's trench beneath the tarmac surface. It sealed a rectilinear cut of approx 0.3m depth, of unknown function.
