Description

Note in YAJ by Ramm: Trenches were dug by boys from the school archaeological society on the site of the new assembly hall. Although dug to a considerable depth they were still in made-up ground presumably deposited when the cellars were dug for the houses fronting on to Bootham. Quantities of unstratified first and second century pottery were found, including Samian.
