Description

Removal of the soil piled against the outer wall of sculpture gallery in basement of Tempest Anderson Hall. The Hall had been built directly on top of the southern wall of the south transcept of the 13th centry abbey church. The wall had been uncovered in 1820s then had been reburied in 1912 when the hall was built. It has now been left open again for public view.
