Accession No: 2001.10752. Evaluation in advance of proposed redevelopment just outside Walmgate Bar recorded truncated deposits containing Roman and 10th century pottery, as well as later industrial activity. Duplicate of EYO518) NMR source York Archaeological Trust annual report 11 30/2001-2002 The aim of the evaluation and building survey was to record the character, date and state of preservation of any archaeological deposits, structures, or features which would be vulnerable to disturbance or destruction should the proposed development proceed. The work was carried out in accordance with a specification prepared by York Archaeological Trust and approved by John Oxley, Archaeologist for the City of York Council. The work was undertaken on behalf of Mr W. Legard of Waterfront House (York) Ltd. All records of the evaluation are currently stored with the York Archaeological Trust under the Yorkshire Museum accession code YORYM:2001.10752
