Description

The boreholes revealed potential agricultural soils dating from the medieval and post-medieval periods, as well as 19th-20th century made ground relating to the residential development along The Crescent. Deposit thickness varied across the site but the top of natural deposits was recorded at c.11.16-11.36m AOD (2.65m AOD). Plough soils commenced between 12.08m-13.01m AOD (1.00m-1.88m BGL). Modern make up layers were between 13.16-12.41m AOD (0.10-1.60m BGL). The top of the water table was c.10m AOD although may have been higher as some lower deposits were moist.
