Description

The Guard House was built on the site of the late 18th-century barracks, around the late 19th century, when a series of developments were made to the site in response to a number of military reforms. Although much of the original fabric of this building has been lost, it still possesses a degree of historic and communal value, through its historic link with the regiment and the barracks. Earlier remains of structures present along the northern boundary wall, are indicative of earlier 19th century structures.
