Description

2 points monitored for quality and levels. Throughout the six-month monitoring period the watertable remained at a depth of around 6.6m AOD, (c. 4.0 m BGL) with periodic sharp peaks which mirror the rise of the River Ouse as it responds to episodes of heavy rainfall. This similarity in trends observed in Figure 6 indicates the deposits remain hydrologically connected with the river, which is the main source of recharge, although rainfall is likely to contribute too. The maximum height reached by the watertable was 7.439m AOD (3.19m BGL). Therefore, potential Roman deposits in the vicinity of borehole BH02 have remained waterlogged throughout this period, even during episodes of low, or no, rainfall.
