Description
A watching brief on ground works for the renewal of traffic signals was undertaken by York Archaeological Trust on behalf of CYC. WB carried out under Operations Notice.
No significant archaeological deposits were observed during the watching brief. Modern services and imported surface make-up deposits account for the majority of the upper 0.50m of the sequence in this area. It remains possible, however, that more significant remains survive beyond the limit of excavation of the present works.
