Between the 13th and the 14th January 2022 York Archaeology conducted an evaluation at Beverley House, 17 Shipton Road. The work was undertaken to help inform a planning application that was under consideration by the City of York Council (20/01084/FULM). The works involved the excavation and recording of 3 rectangular trenches. The excavation uncovered nothing of archaeological interest, comprising naturally occurring superficial geology York Moraine Member - Sand, Clayey, Gravelly deposits. A small quantity of pottery was recovered.
