A watching brief on ground works for a single storey rear extension was undertaken by York Archaeological Trust on behalf of Ebor Construction between 27th October and 1st November 2021 at 15 Lastingham Terrace, York. No evidence of archaeological deposits or artefacts were observed during the monitoring of ground works at Lastingham Terrace, as works were mainly restricted to deposits appearing to be modern in date. Clay possibly representing the superficial geology was observed in the base of the waste water pipe pit, however no archaeological features were observed. This lack of archaeological deposits may be due to the relatively small size of the excavated areas, and the limited depth that the ground works took place at, and not a lack of archaeological deposits within the area
