Description

Twenty boreholes sunk revealed some depth of stratigraphy and large amounts of pottery. Medieval deposits were seen to survive on the street frontages with a considerable depth of waterlogged organic material in the backlands. Masonry features were encountered at depth, and may represent Roman structures. York Archaeological Trust annual report /1990-91/27
