Description
A watching brief on ground works for a flood alleviation scheme was undertaken by York Archaeological Trust on behalf of JBA Bentley Ltd. with an objective to record any archaeological deposits or structures exposed by the ground works. In the result, a stratigraphic sequence was observed in all monitored trenches. The majority of trenches consisted of a mixture of modern made ground, 19th century disturbance and some potentially undisturbed archaeological deposits.
