Description

A total of three trenches were excavated on the grounds of the National Railway Museum. Two trenches to the south of Leeman Road revealed made ground and remains of previous landscaping. The third trench was located in a turfed area of the courtyard of The Great Hall and exposed the remains of 19th century structures and services below more recent deposits of made ground.
