Description

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken at 14 Mount Parade, York, during redevelopment comprising internal and external alterations to the property. The investigation comprised archaeological monitoring during construction of a basement level extension to rear, extension of a light-well to front and lowering of a basement floor. The watching brief revealed a buried topsoil and subsoil of a probable post-medieval or early modern date that contained residual Roman and medieval pottery finds. No archaeological cut features were identified during the investigation.
