Watching brief under operations notice. The maximum depth of the trenches as 0.30m in depth. All deposits encountered appeared to be of modern date, due to the location of the groundworks in an area already previously excavated for the installation of services. Although there was high potential in the area for encountering archaeological deposits of importance, presence of a 1.8m deep cellar which truncated any earlier archaeological remains precluded any further information being added to our current understanding of the archaeology of Spurriergate or the immediate area.
