5 evaluation trenches opened with two further areas subject to strip, map and record. All trenches contained modern features which were associated with the warehouse demolished prior to excavation. Archaeological features in the form of ditches and gullies were identified within 3 trenches following a secondary strip down to the natural underlying geology. The strip, map and record areas exposed further ditches and gullies. These were of Roman date based on the recovered pottery, CBM, glass and nob nails and likely formed part of the Roman field system recorded locally (OSA 2003; 215). No further work recommended.
