Description

The propored development site is located within the vicinity of extensive archaeological and geoarchaeological activity, with finds and features dating from the prehistoric and Romano-British periods being identified and recorded to the south. The Trial Trenching follows Geophysical Survey and Desk Based Assessment which were carried out across a wider area. The evaluation consisted of twenty four trenches. It identified no archaeological finds, features or deposits. Geophysical anomalies targeted within the trenches were seemingly caused by variations in underlying natural deposits and ridge and furrow.
