Description
A watching brief on ground works for a utilities trench was undertaken by York Archaeology on behalf of Openreach between 2nd and 3rd October 2023 at Marygate Lane.
No evidence of archaeological remains was present within the excavation trench. All other deposits
were noted as being modern contexts relating to landscaping, service trenches, road repairs and the
backfilling associated with these events.
