Evaluation of four trenches following borehole survey. The evaluation has provided additional archaeological information to that obtained through the previous borehole survey. Significant Roman deposits, including the remains of at least one building, together with a potential road surface were recorded in the trenches excavated in the basement of No. 33 Coney Street. By contrast the trench excavated in the adjacent property No. 29-31 Coney Street, indicated that previous basement construction had resulted in truncation of any archaeological stratigraphy and the top of natural.
